Biology I is structured around a series of major themes: basic life functions, cellular anatomy and physiology, genetic continuity, change of organisms over time, diversity of life. These themes are taught around a core of science as investigation and inquiry. This course is recommended for academic students in their sophomore year planning to pursue higher education. Each student will be evaluated in the following areas: tests, quizzes, homework, projects, notebooks, laboratories, and in class assignments. Upon completion of this course students are required to take Biology Keystone Exams.
